Cyber-Sitter Program at Uplink Studios

How will you juggle work and home schooling?

As the pandemic continues to stretch into the Fall and schools move to virtual learning (Cyber School), many parents are left without options.  As parents, we too struggle with working a full, productive day at our jobs while policing our children to ensure they are attending their online classes, doing their work and not just cruising the internet

Introducing… Cyber-Sitter at Uplink

The Cyber-Sitter program is not a day care center for your children.  Our facility is an esports venue.  Our program is designed to help you and your child with the virtual learning programs.   Instead of your child doing their schoolwork in your home, they come to Uplink, which gives you, the parents, the opportunity to focus on your job whether its virtual or not.

Your child will have a safe, socially distanced desk assigned to them at least 6 feet apart, as well as high speed internet access and power.  They bring their school-issued laptop, ChromeBook, etc and do their synchronous and asynchronous learning from our location.

While we are not educating your child, we will help ensure your child is in each of their assigned classes and are here to assist if they need any help.

You provide us with their daily schedule and we make sure they follow it!

The Details

Due to PA Dept of Health and CDC guidelines, our program is limited to 20 children.

The program is designed for the school day.  As an example, if your child’s school day is 7:30 to 2:15, their program runs from 7:15 to 2:30.  If your child’s school day is 8:30-3:00, their program is 8:15 to 3:15.

We are flexible with arrival and departure times, but ask that you arrive promptly at your scheduled time so that we can manage the flow of people coming and going.

We will provide unlimited, free bottled water, but parents are responsible for providing a bagged lunch for their child.  We are a peanut-free facility and request that no peanuts or peanut-based products enter the building.

The program is designed for children in 4th through 8th grade.

When their schoolwork is complete, they will have the opportunity to play outside (weather permitting), watch a show in our arena or play some video games (based on parent approval, of course!).  We may even add in a few fun activities as well!

Cyber-Sitter Safety Procedures

  • Due to spacing requirements, we are only admitting 15 children per day.
  • Upon arrival every day, parents will be required to sign a form attesting that their child has not had any fever or related symptoms in the last 24 hours or that they have travaeled out of state or have been in contact with anyone who has had symptoms.
  • Each person entering the studio will have their temperature taken using a touchless thermometer.  Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 F or higher will not be admitted.
  • We will have hand sanitizer available for everyone.
  • Masks will be required for anyone entering the studio, parents and children included.
  • Children will be separated by a minimum of 6 feet at all times..
  • Children are to bring their own snacks and lunch, labeled in their own bags.  A refirgerator is available.
  • We will provide unlimited bottled water for the children throughout the day.
  • Each child will have a designated desk and space in the studio.  They are not to enter any other player’s designated space.
